This weekend, we partnered with Mission 500 and Title One Schools to bring you the inaugural Moni 5K for Children. The event brought out more than 300 runners on a sunny Saturday in Farmers Branch, including special guest and renowned marathon winner, Bill Rodgers, and helped raise $25,000 to help local families in need.
The race was emceed by dealer support Account Manager, Sarahi Sanpedro, who did a great job encouraging excitement and rallying the crowd. Maui Bishir, Monitronics' Sr. Director of Sales and Dealer Development, captured the day's activities on this drone in a video that can be seen here.
Up on stage during the awards ceremony, the top three male and female runners in each age group received trophies, and the top three male and female runners overall were awarded with $1,000, $750 and $500, respectively.
Looking back at the day, our President and CEO, Jeff Gardner, summed up his feelings about the impact of the race: "The Moni 5K for Children is an important cause to Monitronics, as it not only brings our community together, but provides much needed resources and support for children in need. Our inaugural race raised $25,000 for charity and we are looking forward to continuing our work with Mission 500 to expand this event in years to come.”
Giving back is a core tenet of Monitronics' corporate ideals, and we plan to grow this event each year, helping to raise money and awareness for children in need. We look forward to your involvement and support as we come together for a great cause in years to come!
